Flooring
When you read about “green flooring,” the obvious picture you think of is bamboo, cork, or another type of natural, renewable product. The fact is, today there are a wide range of eco-friendly flooring options, including many recycled carpeting and tile products that provide impressive durability, reusability, and sustainability.
EverStrand™ by Mohawk Flooring is one example, made from recycled plastic bottles. The fibers of this carpet are superior to synthetic fibers from other carpets and offer the ultimate in stain protection. SmartStrand®, another Mohawk carpet, is manufactured with over one-third coming from renewable ingredients that replace old ones from petroleum. These eco-friendly products from Mohawk® protect the environment without sacrificing product performance --a winning combination.

In 1992, the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) developed the Green Label program to identify products with very low emissions of VOCs. Recently, the CRI introduced its next series of improvements called Green Label Plus for carpet and adhesives which set even higher standards to help guarantee that customers are purchasing
the very lowest emitting products on the market. The Mohawk Group’s commercial products have all passed the CRI Green Label Plus certification for VOC emissions.
